How This Calculator Works
This calculator uses established drag racing formulas to estimate performance times:
- 1/4 Mile ET: Based on the formula ET = 5.825 × (weight/hp)^0.333, adjusted for drivetrain losses and traction.
- Trap Speed: Calculated using MPH = 234 × (hp/weight)^0.333 with wheel horsepower.
- Drivetrain Loss: RWD ~15%, FWD ~13%, AWD ~20% power loss to the wheels.
- Traction Factor: AWD has better launch traction, FWD may experience wheel spin.
