How This Calculator Works
This calculator uses established drag racing formulas to estimate horsepower:
- From ET: HP = Weight ÷ (ET / 5.825)³
- From Trap Speed: HP = Weight × (MPH / 234)³
- Wheel HP: Crank HP × drivetrain efficiency (RWD: 85%, FWD: 87%, AWD: 80%)
Note: Trap speed method is often more accurate as it is less affected by traction. Include driver weight in vehicle weight for best accuracy.
